Westbay Children's Services Division prides itself on delivering high quality comprehensive early care and education programs
for children and their families through the Children's Center.

Our mission is to provide children with learning environments that are nurturing, and based on current trends in education
to prepare children to enter school ready and eager to learn.

Children's Center Director Maryann Finamore has 34 years of experience teaching and directing early care and education programs.
She has spent most of her career at Westbay, after graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor degree in Child Development.

She also has additional training in child development, family relations, early childhood education and special populations.
As director, Maryann oversees a staff of 20 employees, including 11 teaching staff and nine auxiliary support faculty.

The Center's school is comprised of three preschool classrooms for three and four-year-olds and a full day Kindergarten class providing private education
for five and six-year-olds. In addition, the Center provides before and after school programs for children ages 6-12, as well as tutorial services, homework assistance and after school recreational programs for all of the children in this program.

Licensed by the Department for Children, Youth and Families and the Rhode Island Department of Education for children ages 3-12, Rhode Island Early Learning Standards and State Department of Education. Kindergarten Standards underpin the curricula, ensuring that age appropriate skills are taught in a purposeful and meaningful way.

Each child’s progress is carefully documented using authentic assessment tools which are shared with parents three times during the school year.
Parents are obviously our most crucial partners in the education of their children, and we work closely together to understand parents’ specific goals
for their child and to incorporate them into a specific educational plan designed for each child.

The Children’s Center is conveniently located off a major street, tucked into a safe, quiet residential neighborhood in the Hoxsie/Governor Francis Farms section of Warwick.

Transportation from neighboring elementary schools is provided by the school.
