| Westbay Community Action operates the Rhode Island Home Emergency Housing Assistance Program (RHEHA) for residents of Warwick, West Warwick and East Greenwich or those who are in the process of moving to one of these communities.
This program may be able to assist with back rent, security deposits or mortgage payments. The individual or family must have had a documented crisis within the last 6 months of the application to be eligible.
Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)
HPRP will provide financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.
The funds will provide a variety of assistance, including short-term or medium-term rental assistance, housing relocation and stabilization services.
This program also provides intensive case management to its clients. Westbay is in partnership with RI Family Shelter, EBC Center, Kent Center and BridgeMark to assist individuals and families.
Emergency Shelter
Westbay provides emergency shelter payments to temporarily house individuals and families facing homelessness. Westbay can pay for up to three nights of emergency shelter. The program is dependent upon availability of designated funds.
