The Intake Unit enables Westbay to perform comprehensive assessment at the point of contact with clients seeking emergency services. Westbay's services are available to low-income residents of Warwick, West Warwick, East Greenwich and Coventry.

All of Westbay Community Action's programs are designed to guide clients toward economic self-sufficiency. Clients exhibiting multiple barriers to economic self-sufficiency are identified and directed to short-term case management through the Intake Unit.
 
Clients needing less intervention receive appropriate referrals and follow up to Westbay programs and other service providers.

The goal of the Unit is to help families and individuals meet their basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and utility assistance due to crisis situations.
